Forestry has been part of Quinn Frassetta’s life from the beginning. Raised by a forester and educated at Penn State Mont Alto, Quinn has spent more than a decade helping Pennsylvania landowners make informed decisions about their woods.
MY STORY
A lifetime in the woods.
Quinn grew up fishing, camping, hiking, and spending time outdoors with his father, a forester. Forestry felt like a natural path, and after studying at Penn State Mont Alto, he spent ten years working with a consulting forester in the Harrisburg area. During that time, he worked directly with private landowners, administered timber sales, and learned how practical guidance can protect both a property and a landowner’s goals. That experience became the foundation for Nittany Forestry Consulting.
Anyone in Pennsylvania can call themselves a forester.
Pennsylvania does not license foresters. Legally, anyone can print a business card and call themselves a forestry consultant, regardless of training or experience. That puts the burden of vetting on you, the landowner, at exactly the moment you are least equipped to do it.
A few things make that easier. Quinn Frassetta holds a forestry degree from Penn State Mont Alto and appears on the Pennsylvania DCNR consulting forester directory, which only lists foresters meeting specific education and training criteria. Nittany Forestry carries full liability insurance. And we never buy timber ourselves, so we are never sitting on both sides of your sale.

Outside of forestry, Quinn enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and dogs, traveling and camping, whitewater kayaking, and rock climbing.
